WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Rain FC announce that defender Sam Corrie will join the squad for the upcoming 2025 WPSL season.
“I’m super passionate about soccer and I can’t wait to bring my energy to the team this summer. I can’t wait to be a part of this program,” Corrie said.
Corrie, a native of Winchester, England, came through the academy at Southampton FC and made her debut with the first team in an FA Cup match against Bristol City in 2022.
She then came to the United States to get her college education and play college soccer. As a freshman, she was part of a Nebraska team that won the 2023 Big Ten regular season title and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
After a season with the Huskers, Corrie transferred to New Mexico for the 2024 season, starting seven times for the Lobos and playing with 2024 Rain defender Fiona Jenkins.
“Quality attracts quality,” Rain head coach Kelly Brown said. “She came highly recommended by one of our current Rain players. After watching Sam’s playing video and speaking with her, I immediately knew she’d be a great fit into our culture and our program. She brings with her international playing experience and will be a solid presence in our defensive back line this season.”
