WINDSOR, Colo. — For the second time this season, Northern Colorado Rain FC lost 1-0 to Albion SC Colorado on a late goal.
This time it was a 79th minute goal from a corner kick that was the only goal of the match.
“They’re strong on set pieces, and we know that,” Rain FC head coach Kelly Brown said. “They’ve scored two set piece goals against us, we’re aware of it, and we didn’t execute.”
Despite having the majority of the possession in the match, Rain mustered just nine shots, only two of which were on target.
“I think we get chances early and we think they’re going to keep coming so we don’t have that mentality to score right off the bat,” Brown said.
Rain now have a week off before returning to action against Colorado Storm next Monday in Denver.
